| The response time to an emergency with on-duty firemen is approximately 2 minutes. When an emergency occurs, every second makes a difference and we pride ourselves on a rapid response with well-coordinated, highly trained crew. When there is an emergency, firefighters respond from two stations: | |

| Our emergency response vehicles include three fire engines, one Tower ladder, three marine units, a HumVee brush firefighting truck, A Hazardous materials Decontamination trailer with a Prime Mover and a service vehicle. We also utilize state-of-the-art equipment to save lives and to reduce the property damaged by fire, including Class-A firefighting foam, thermal imaging cameras and automatic defibrillators. Our personnel are an excellent combination of mission ready, NFPA certified and HazMat trained graduates of the Connecticut Fire Academy as well as veteran firefighters. | |

Our service area is approximately 3.5 square miles, with a resident population of 19,000.
